ZIMMERMANN is an iconic Australian label that remains faithful to its original vision: sophisticated femininity, clever color combinations and delicate original prints. Sisters Nicky and Simone Zimmermann founded their eponymous brand in 1991. They quickly gained a loyal following: intelligent, sartorially savvy women with an eye for quality fabrics and smart cutting. ZIMMERMANN started literally and creatively in Sydney, with Nicky focused on designing clothes and selling them in Paddington markets. During the week Nicky designed and created clothing from her parents' garage in preparation for the weekend market. The markets were an opportunity for Nicky to hone her aesthetic and see firsthand how women respond to fashion.
