For the menswear Spring Summer 2021 collection, Anthony Vaccarello has decided to present a virtual show, magnified by a complementary set of physical features, such as street posters, stickers, photo walls, and flags.

“No Matter How Long the Night Is” by Nathalie Canguilhem. A title that anticipates the intensity of a journey signed Saint Laurent. Freed from the Paris Fashion Week regulations and timings, the French Maison has opted for a six-minutes narrative that combines thrilling parkour scenes, fabulous tailoring, a group of young and mysterious models and different cities around the world.

Jumping and moving through the architectures of Paris, Beijing and the Brooklyn Bridge and finally arriving to the Eiffel Tower, the characters wear a fresh collection that balances archive reinterpretations and the creative influences of Anthony Vaccarello. Refinement and soft opulence are representative of the displayed garments and accessories. Floral and animal patterns are combined with fluid silhouettes, which enhance the idea of Summer in accordance with an intense and elegant monochrome color palette. The Saint Laurent apparel includes blazers, bomber jackets, traditional denim, short-sleeved or sleeveless shirts and pleated trousers. The accessories instead, comprehend the ties, gladiator rope sandals and loafers.

As Anthony Vaccarello stated, the collection is not meant to be an independent line. Instead it favours mix-and-matching looks with items from preceding seasons. This time, Saint Laurent wants to revolutionize its wardrobe on three different levels: one is proper of the collection design; the second change regards the detachment from the Fashion calendar and rituals; finally, the brand has discovered a new intriguing way of depicting its universe, by actively engaging the totality of its audience and transporting it to another magic reality.
