Maison Margiela X Reebok: Classic Leather Tabi Décortiqué Low
The latest exclusive collaboration, due out January 28, 2022, between fashion house Maison Margiela and American sportswear brand Reebok, reinterprets Reebok's Classic Leather sneakers, created in 1983, in the whimsical language of the French fashion house's designer. The idea stems from a reinterpretation of Maison Margiela's classic Tabi, conceived in 1988, in a streetwear key.
The Classic Leather Tabi Décortiqué Low silhouette is based on the original Classic Leather structure, but enriched with the unmistakable split-toe design of Maison Margiela's Tabi model. Compared to the last shoe released from the collaboration between the high fashion and sportswear brand, this sneaker features the décortiqué look. Through cuts in the main structure of an object, its basic, most important components are highlighted. The décortiqué technique is a figurative process that represents the values of authenticity and individualism. As stated by designer John Galliano, this feature of the shoe accentuates Maison Margiela's brand concept of "Anonymity of the lining", that is, foregrounding and enhancing the inner part of a garment that is usually not visible.
The sneakers in the white and black hand-painted version, are available in our boutique and on our website suitnegozi.com from January 28, 2022.
